The 2026 Global Citizen Festival, taking place in New York's Central Park on September 26, will feature spectacular performances by world-renowned artists such as TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and John Legend, alongside a new ticketing system. Attendees can earn points by taking "action" to solve social issues through the Global Citizen app and then enter the traditional free ticket draw. Alternatively, through a new method introduced this year, they can secure a guaranteed ticket on a first-come, first-served basis by reaching a point goal and making a $25 donation. The collected donations will be used to support the City Parks Foundation and homeless assistance programs. The festival's global campaign focuses on achieving three core goals: providing educational opportunities for 2 million children, strengthening food security for 1.5 million smallholder farmers, and supplying electricity to 2.5 million households through clean energy.
Your $25 will go a long way in New York City. The raised funds will be directed to the City Parks Foundation to support free programs and community engagement activities in parks across all five boroughs, as well as organizations helping the homeless throughout the city.
The first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show produced by Global Citizen helped raise $60 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
"The lesson here is that extreme poverty can be overcome, and progress is a choice," said Hugh Evans, co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen. "The question facing us and our leaders today is simple: Will we be the generation that finishes this task, or the generation that lets decades of progress slip away?"
Creating opportunities for 2 million children to attend school.
The 2026 Global Citizen Festival campaign is calling on the governments of Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Spain, and Norway, along with corporations and philanthropists, to collectively pledge $100 million to provide education, sports, school meals, and healthcare for 2 million children. These funds will be used to support initiatives through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, Gavi, Education Cannot Wait, GPEI, and the Child Nutrition Fund.
Supporting 1.5 million smallholder farmers who feed their communities.
The 2026 Global Citizen Festival campaign is urging the governments of Spain, Norway, Ireland, and Kenya, as well as corporations and philanthropists, to jointly contribute $100 million to strengthen the food security of 1.5 million smallholder farmers in Africa and the Brazilian Amazon through IFAD and Amazônia+21's Rural Green Fund.
Helping to supply electricity to 2.5 million households.
The 2026 festival campaign builds on Global Citizen's "Scale Up Renewable Energy in Africa" campaign—which helped secure over €15.5 billion—and will focus on expanding clean energy and microgrids across vulnerable small island developing states and Indigenous communities in the Indo-Pacific region.
