The Revelation Spiritual Home: The Revival of African Indigenous Spirituality (2025, Cambridge University Press)

In their 2025 book published by Cambridge University Press, Massimo Introvigne and Rosita Šorytė explore The Revelation Spiritual Home (TRSH) through immersive ethnographic research. They analyze its ritual choreography, cosmology, dress codes, and role within South Africa’s spiritual landscape.

Led by Dr. Samuel Radebe (IMboni uZwi-Lezwe Radebe), TRSH calls for Africa to “reclaim its ancestral spirituality” by reviving African Indigenous Spirituality (AIS) and shedding colonial religious residues from Christian and Islamic syncretism.

The book consists of five thematic chapters, examining TRSH’s relation to African Initiated Churches, its emergence and ideology, organizational structure, and social controversies.

Radebe’s personal journey—from childhood visions and discrimination in the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God to his founding of TRSH in 2009—illustrates the movement’s spiritual roots and transformation, including a major rebranding in 2020.

The authors also highlight TRSH’s economic network of about 70 enterprises across fashion, food, healthcare, investment, and insurance, describing this phenomenon as “Business Ecumenism.” Connections with Korea’s McCol (Family Federation for World Peace) and Scientology’s “Tools for Life” program are noted as pragmatic, not doctrinal, partnerships.

Future generations refer not only to our own physical descendants
but also to all future generations to come.

Since all decisions made by the current generation will either positively
or negatively affect them, we must take responsibility for our actions.
